Real Egyptian Arabic for daily life

Start talking like an Egyptian

You’re tired of nodding along, guessing, or letting others speak for you. You don’t need textbook Arabic. You need the language people actually use, in taxis, at markets, cafés, … real conversations to navigate daily life independently.

Imagine this

In the taxi

You get in and tell the driver where you’re going. He quotes a price. You negotiate, in Egyptian Arabic, and eventually you both agree. When he takes a wrong turn, you notice and tell him. You give him the right directions and chat all the way home.

At the restaurant

You order your food, ask to swap out the thing you don’t like, and the waiter confirms it’s no problem.
Simple as that. The meal arrives the way you ordered it.

At the market

You run through your shopping list, translate it in your head as you go, and ask for exactly what you need. No pointing at things and hoping for the best, you leave with precisely what you came for.
You didn’t need anyone to do the talking for you.

With your doorman

The heater isn’t working. You go downstairs and explain the problem to your bawwaab (doorman). He says he’ll send someone and you agree on a time.
When exactly they’ll show up is anyone’s guess. 😅 But the conversation? You handled that yourself.

This is for you

You're done speaking English.

You're done relying on others.

You live in Egypt and want to stop feeling like an outsider

You want to handle your own life, in Egyptian Arabic, without switching to English, without pointing or guessing, or relying on someone to translate for you or handing out your phone to show what you want.
You’re longing for the confidence to just handle things yourself.

You travel to Egypt regularly and want more than shukran

You love the country and keep coming back. You know a few words, but you want more than just that. So you can greet people properly, order without hesitation, shop without stress, and actually blend in instead of just passing through.
You’re tired of smiling and nodding your way through conversations.

You've tried apps or courses but still can't speak

You checked an app or signed up for a course, but ended up with random words you’ll never use or endless grammar before you could even say a single thing. Duolingo gave you Standard Arabic, which nobody uses in daily life.
You need the language people actually speak, in taxis, at restaurants, with your neighbors, …

About me

Ahlan! I'm Lynn

I’m not a native Arabic speaker. And that’s exactly why I can teach you.

For over 16 years, Egypt has been my second home. It started with a family diving trip and turned into a Master’s in Arabic and Islamic Studies at university, a life in Cairo, and now a home in Sharm El Sheikh.

I know this language from the learner’s side: what makes it challenging, how to get started (and be able to talk right away), what actually helps (including insider tips 😉), and what it feels like when it finally clicks.

Let’s Talk Egyptian exists because those everyday moments: a word with your bawwaab, a chat with your neighbor or friends, ordering without pointing, negotiating a taxi fare.
They shouldn’t feel out of reach. I’ll take you step by step.

Before you start

Good to know

No prior knowledge needed

No Arabic background needed, no alphabet before you speak your first words.
From lesson one, you’re already saying real things and starting to talk like an Egyptian.

This is Egyptian Arabic, the spoken language

Not Modern Standard Arabic, not random vocabulary lists or endless grammar. It’s the dialect people actually use in daily life: at the market, in the taxi, with your family-in-law, at the doctor’s. What you learn today, you can use right away.

Can't I just use Duolingo or Google Translate?

Duolingo gives you random words in Standard Arabic you’ll never use. Google Translate gives you formal, Standard Arabic translations that sound nothing like how Egyptians actually talk.
Both keep you stuck. This doesn’t.

"I really like your approach. Most people start teaching numbers, colors and animals, but you focus on practical everyday language, which is so much more useful."

The taxi driver, the market vendor, your friends and neighbors, your bawwaab, ...

They're all waiting, in Egyptian Arabic.

You already know what you want. To navigate daily life and handle things yourself, to have real conversations, to stop switching to English or depending on others.

All of that is within reach, you just need to start. And I’ll take you there, step by step.

Don’t wait till that next awkward silence.
